Today we did our first reading assessment using our rubric. Marks are on PowerSchool.
Due to computer issues, the due date for your first written work is now
Tuesday, Oct 10.
We will be in the Library, and here we can save your work to the HandIn folder on the Sturgeon Heights Shared Folders.
I hope you can think of three things that you are grateful for.

Writing Routines!
We have spent the week concentrating on Reading!
Now we are shifting and we will establish more writing routines.
Here is a link to writing prompts
Together we will create a time line on writing days for in class and we will also make the due dates together.
I would like two significant writing pieces per month.
Let's figure that out in real time today...
Grade 10 Writing Prompts
You will have choose on what you want to write about. Some may find this very freeing and other may find this complex and uncomfortable. You need to come prepared to work; which means organizing, writing or conferencing with me.
You can also communicate via Remind; ask questions, work out ideas, use me as a sounding board.

How are you smart?
Today we discussed in small groups how each of us is smart.
We Created a Table Map as a group! On each map, students recorded with symbols their three top smart categories.
Nature Smart - flower, tree, leaf
Bodily-Kinesthetic - person walking, biking, jumping-jack
Interpersonal - two hands shaking
Intrapersonal - a heart
Logical-Mathematical - a chess piece
Musical - musical notes
Verbal-Linguistic - a conversation bubble
Visual-Spatial - an eye
Then we started reading the book:
We skimmed it (1 minute)
Made observations in a class discussion
